In a move that underscores continued consolidation in India’s education sector, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of a significant stake in Aakash Educational Services Ltd (AESL) by the Manipal Group, led by Ranjan Pai. The transaction involves the purchase of equity shares from Aakash founder J.C. Chaudhry through Manipal’s affiliates—Manipal Health Systems and Manipal Education and Medical Group India (MEMG).
