After a turbulent start to April marked by significant outflows, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have returned to Indian equity markets with net investments nearing Rs. 8,500 crore in just one week. This resurgence, driven by improving investor sentiment, India's economic resilience, and favorable currency trends, could mark a turning point in FPI activity for the remainder of 2025. The shift comes despite ongoing global macroeconomic uncertainties and previous capital flight totaling Rs. 1.4 lakh crore since January.
