The Maharashtra government has unveiled a transformative policy aimed at establishing the state as a major center for shipbuilding, repair, and recycling. With a goal of contributing one-third to India’s shipbuilding targets by 2030, the policy includes financial incentives, such as capital subsidies, skill development assistance, and concessional land leases. The policy also seeks to create a robust ecosystem, focusing on infrastructure, skilled labor, and R&D, to support the maritime sector.
