In a significant move to bolster Haryana's infrastructure and technological capabilities, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a series of high-powered purchase committee meetings on June 2, 2025. The state government sanctioned contracts and purchases totaling over ₹1,640 crore, aiming to enhance rural sanitation, education, healthcare, and urban infrastructure. Rural Sanitation and Waste Management
To address sanitation challenges in rural areas, the Haryana government approved the procurement of 298 hopper tipper dumpers at an estimated cost of ₹19 crore. These vehicles will be distributed to 'Mahagrams' and Gram Panchayats with populations exceeding 7,500, enabling them to manage waste independently at the village level. This initiative is expected to significantly improve cleanliness and hygiene standards in rural communities.
Educational Enhancements and Digital Infrastructure
In a bid to modernize educational facilities, the government sanctioned the purchase of 4,500 laptops for Gram Sachivs and Chief Parliamentary Liaison Officers (CPLOs), amounting to approximately ₹31.5 crore. Additionally, provisions were made for the establishment of e-libraries in villages, including the acquisition of books, computer systems, Wi-Fi connectivity, and CCTV equipment. Healthcare Infrastructure Expansion
The state government has also prioritized healthcare infrastructure. Approval was granted for the expansion of the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantt, increasing its capacity from 100 to 200 beds. Additionally, soil-testing kits worth ₹8 crore were sanctioned to assess soil health, and ₹12 crore was allocated for special repair works at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College in Nalhar, encompassing road repairs, public health improvements, electrical services, fire-fighting systems, and HVAC upgrades.
Urban Infrastructure and Smart City Initiatives
In urban development, the government approved the construction of the Zila Parishad Vikas Bhawan in Gurugram at a cost of ₹61 crore. Furthermore, three key road projects—Dadri-Bond road (24 km), Dadri-Chidya road (18 km), and Assandh-Sirsal road (20 km)—were sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹78 crore to enhance connectivity and reduce traffic congestion.
Under the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Phase-2 of the CCTV-based Public Safety and Traffic Management System were approved for both Gurugram and Faridabad, at an estimated cost of ₹58 crore. These initiatives aim to improve urban safety and traffic management through advanced surveillance technologies.
