Honda Amaze Prices Slashed by Up to ₹1.20 Lakh Following GST Reforms

By Kunal Shrivastav , 24 September 2025

Honda Cars India has announced significant price reductions across its vehicle lineup, including the Honda Amaze, following the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms effective from September 22, 2025. The revised pricing makes the Amaze more accessible, with all variants now priced under ₹10 lakh. These changes aim to enhance the model's competitiveness in the compact sedan segment, particularly during the festive season.

GST Reforms Lead to Substantial Price Cuts

The recent GST reforms have resulted in a reduction of tax rates on automobiles, leading to lower ex-showroom prices for several car models. Honda has passed on the benefits of these tax cuts directly to consumers, making their vehicles more affordable. For the Honda Amaze, the price reductions vary between ₹65,100 and ₹1.20 lakh, depending on the variant. This adjustment positions the Amaze as a more attractive option for budget-conscious buyers seeking value in the compact sedan category.

Revised Pricing for Honda Amaze

The updated ex-showroom prices for the Honda Amaze variants are as follows:

  • Second-Generation Amaze (S Variant):
    • S MT: ₹6.98 lakh (down from ₹7.63 lakh)
    • S CVT: ₹7.80 lakh (down from ₹8.53 lakh)
  • Third-Generation Amaze:
    • V MT: ₹7.41 lakh (down from ₹8.10 lakh)
    • V CVT: ₹8.55 lakh (down from ₹9.35 lakh)
    • VX MT: ₹8.41 lakh (down from ₹9.20 lakh)
    • VX CVT: ₹9.15 lakh (down from ₹10.00 lakh)
    • ZX MT: ₹9.15 lakh (down from ₹10.00 lakh)
    • ZX CVT: ₹10.00 lakh (down from ₹11.20 lakh)

These reductions make the Amaze more competitive against rivals in the segment, such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura.

Strategic Timing and Consumer Benefits

The timing of these price cuts aligns with the onset of the festive season, a period traditionally associated with increased vehicle purchases in India. By reducing prices, Honda aims to stimulate demand and attract a larger customer base. The affordability of the Amaze, combined with its reputation for reliability and fuel efficiency, positions it as a compelling choice for first-time car buyers and those looking for a cost-effective upgrade.

Conclusion

Honda's decision to pass on the benefits of the GST reforms to consumers through significant price reductions underscores its commitment to offering value in the competitive compact sedan market. With the entire Amaze range now priced under ₹10 lakh, prospective buyers have an opportunity to acquire a well-equipped, reliable vehicle at a more accessible price point. This move is expected to bolster Honda's position in the segment and drive increased sales during the festive season.
