Gentari, a clean energy solutions provider, has commissioned a 150 MW open-access solar power facility in Wardha, Maharashtra—one of the largest of its kind in the state for commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers. Designed to generate approximately 248 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity annually, the project is expected to offset over 238,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. With this commissioning, Gentari’s total C&I solar capacity in Maharashtra surpasses 225 MW, reinforcing its commitment to decarbonising industrial energy use while scaling clean energy infrastructure across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
A Milestone in Maharashtra’s Green Energy Drive
In a decisive push toward industrial decarbonisation, Gentari has successfully launched a 150 MW open-access solar power project in Wardha, Maharashtra. The plant is designed specifically to cater to commercial and industrial energy consumers, positioning itself as a vital asset in the region’s ongoing transition to cleaner power sources.
As one of Maharashtra’s largest such facilities, the project underscores the increasing demand for sustainable energy among high-consumption sectors. According to Gentari, this single facility is projected to produce nearly 248 million units (kWh) of green electricity annually.
Substantial Carbon Offset Potential
One of the most compelling aspects of the project is its environmental impact. The solar plant is expected to cut carbon emissions by more than 238,576 tonnes annually. This achievement not only reflects the operational efficiency of the installation but also reinforces the environmental benefits of large-scale open-access solar generation in industrial regions.
These emissions savings are equivalent to removing tens of thousands of fossil-fuel-powered vehicles from the road each year, signaling a significant contribution to India’s climate goals under the Paris Agreement and the country’s broader renewable energy commitments.

With this commissioning, Gentari's cumulative solar capacity for C&I customers in Maharashtra has now crossed 225 MW.
