India’s market regulator has revised the methodology for valuing gold and silver held by mutual fund schemes, aiming to enhance transparency and ensure closer alignment with market realities. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said the updated framework will standardize pricing references and reduce discrepancies in the net asset values of schemes investing in precious metals. The move is expected to improve consistency across fund houses, strengthen investor confidence and minimize valuation-related arbitrage.
