Air India Hong Kong-Delhi Flight Returns Mid-Air Due to Technical Concern; Passengers Safe

An Air India flight bound for New Delhi from Hong Kong made an unscheduled return to its point of origin on Monday following a suspected technical issue identified by the pilot-in-command. The aircraft departed at 12:16 p.m. local time and was scheduled to arrive in Delhi around 12:20 p.m. IST. As a precautionary measure, the crew opted to divert back to Hong Kong. Bhaichung Bhutia Blasts AIFF Over Mismanagement and Hollow Incentives Amid India’s Football Decline

Indian football icon Bhaichung Bhutia has sharply criticized the All India Football Federation (AIFF) following the national team’s 0–1 defeat to Hong Kong in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers. In a scathing assessment, Bhutia questioned the AIFF’s decision-making—particularly a sudden promise of a USD 50,000 bonus for a potential win—calling it arbitrary and emblematic of deeper systemic failures. He also urged AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey to resign, citing consistent underperformance and administrative instability.
