Vedanta Contributes Rs. 4.5 Lakh Crore to Government Exchequer in a Decade, Reinforces Tax Transparency Commitment

Vedanta Ltd, the natural resources and energy conglomerate led by industrialist Anil Agarwal, has reported a cumulative contribution of Rs. 4.48 lakh crore to the government exchequer over the past ten fiscal years. In its latest Tax Transparency Report, the company emphasized its adherence to responsible and transparent tax practices. For FY25 alone, Vedanta contributed Rs. 55,349 crore, accounting for 37% of its consolidated revenue, with Rs. 54,595 crore remitted directly to the Indian exchequer.

The allotment follows a competitive e-auction conducted by the state government. Spanning nearly 500 hectares, the block lies in a region known for premium-grade cement limestone. With a winning bid of 20.60% as the final offer, the acquisition strengthens Birla Corporation’s access to critical raw materials.

Oil India Launches Gas Production in Rajasthan Desert, Marking Strategic Energy Milestone

Oil India Ltd (OIL), a state-owned enterprise, has successfully initiated natural gas production from the Bakhri Tibba block, a Discovered Small Field (DSF-III) located in the arid terrain of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district near the India-Pakistan border. The field has begun producing 67,200 standard cubic meters per day (SCMD), which is now being supplied to major downstream players including GAIL and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.

L&T Secures Rs. 1,000–2,500 Crore EPC Contracts for Rural Water Projects in Rajasthan

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), one of India’s largest engineering and construction conglomerates, has secured significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan. The cumulative value of these contracts is estimated between Rs. 1,000 crore and Rs. 2,500 crore, falling under the company’s classification of “significant” orders. The scope of the awarded projects includes extensive infrastructure for rural water supply, fluorosis mitigation, and system rehabilitation across multiple districts.

Finance Minister to Review Progress of 'One State-One RRB' Initiative on May 6

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to review the progress of the "One State-One Regional Rural Bank" (RRB) initiative on May 6. This consolidation effort, which will reduce the number of RRBs from 43 to 28, aims to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
